What is the Sharia ruling regarding those who believe that naming children after prophets or members of the Prophet's household brings good luck and guarantees intercession merely by calling upon the name?

The statement that whoever is named Muhammad or any other prophetic name will attain the Prophet's intercession merely because of the name is incorrect, because the mere name does not benefit its owner if he is not a believer. For Musa (Moses), whom Jibreel (Gabriel) raised, was an unbeliever, while Musa, whom Pharaoh raised, was a Prophet.
