Is the belief that some names are burdensome for a child and cause them illness, and that a child must be named by a shaykh based on their date and place of birth, sound in Islam?

Among the rights of a newborn upon their father is to choose a good name for them. Part of the jurisprudence of naming is to connect it to their religion and Islamic identity. The most beloved names to Allah are "Abdullah" and "Abdur-Rahman". It is recommended that the name have a good meaning and be something people feel optimistic about, as Sheikh Bakr Abu Zayd stated that the name connects the newborn to the guidance and manners of Sharia. Naming is a right of the father, and he may consult people of knowledge and religion in choosing a good name, as the Companions used to present their newborns to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for him to name them. The belief that consulting in the naming of a newborn has a special effect on the newborn has no basis and is an innovation (bid'ah).
