Is it permissible to entrust a Christian with charity if both Muslims and Christians will benefit from it?

The question included the ruling on entrusting a Christian with charity (sadaqah) and the ruling on giving charity to a non-Muslim.

Regarding the permissibility of entrusting a Christian with charity for its safekeeping or distribution, there are two narrations from Ahmad: one permitting it based on the generality of the verse, "and those employed to collect [charities]," and the other prohibiting it because disbelief contradicts trustworthiness.

As for giving charity to a non-Muslim, if it is zakat, it is not permissible to give it to a non-Muslim unless they are among those whose hearts are to be reconciled. However, if it is voluntary charity, there is no harm in giving it to a disbeliever.
