Does a divorce issued by a husband who was in a state of extreme anger, which resulted in severe beating, take effect, knowing that the cause of his anger was his wife, and that he was receiving treatment for severe nervousness but did not complete his treatment?

Divorce does not take effect if uttered by the husband in a state of extreme anger that renders him unaware. And if the anger is very intense but does not deprive him of awareness, some scholars are of the opinion that divorce does not take effect either. The husband should consult people of knowledge to describe his condition to obtain a مطابق (corresponding) fatwa, and he should avoid causes of anger, treat his nervousness, and maintain the prescribed etiquettes and ذكر (remembrances).
