Is it permissible for a wife to pay her Zakat to her unemployed husband, and is it permissible for the husband to use this money for household expenses or to travel to visit his family?

It is permissible for a wife to give her poor husband from her Zakat money, so that he may spend on himself and his household. By doing so, she will receive two rewards: the reward for kinship and the reward for charity. It is also permissible to give him from Zakat for travel if he cannot find the means to travel, and in this case, he would be considered a wayfarer (Ibn al-Sabeel).
