Would carbonated drinks be prohibited if their great harm to humans is proven and there is no benefit in them?

The buying and selling of soft drinks is permissible based on the general saying of Allah Almighty: (And Allah has permitted trade). This is unless it is proven that they contain impurities or intoxicants, or their clear harm is established. This proof must come from reliable laboratories. They remain permissible unless their harm is definitively proven.
