What is the ruling on trading in carbonated drinks such as Coca-Cola, Fanta, and the like?

Trading in this type of commodity is permissible, due to the generality of Allah Almighty’s saying: (And Allah has permitted trade). However, if the presence of impurities such as pork or intoxicants, or clear health damage is proven, then selling and consuming them becomes forbidden. This must be verified by reliable laboratories. Trade remains permissible until proven otherwise. As for boycotting companies owned by entities hostile to the religion or to Muslims, its ruling has been clarified in previous fatwas.
