Is assisting orphans by clothing them, providing their needs of toys, clothes, and food, visiting them, sitting with them, and bringing joy to them considered sponsorship of orphans, for which the doer is rewarded?

What you are doing by feeding, clothing, and showing kindness to orphans is among the righteous deeds. If it suffices the orphan until the state of orphanhood is removed, then you have achieved the sponsorship for which its doer has been promised the most honorable status in Paradise with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, according to his saying: "The sponsor of an orphan—whether belonging to him or to another—and I will be like these two in Paradise," and he gestured with his index and middle fingers. Agreed upon. Sponsorship is achieved by spending on the orphan, caring for them, and looking after their interests, and it is not required for the orphan to live in the sponsor's home.
