Will a Muslim meet or be reunited with his children who passed away on the Day of Judgment, and how will that meeting be?

Paradise is a dwelling of honor and bliss prepared by Allah for the believers. Part of their complete happiness therein is the reunion of the family unit – parents and children – after their entry into Paradise by the mercy of Allah and the intercession of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. This promise has been mentioned in the Holy Quran. In Surah At-Tur, verse 21, Allah Almighty says: "And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith – We will join their descendants with them, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds." Ibn Abbas interpreted this verse to mean that Allah will raise the offspring of a believer to his rank, even if their deeds are less, to gladden his eyes with them. It is also mentioned in Surah Ar-Ra'd, verse 23: "Gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter and [also] those who were righteous among their fathers and their spouses and their descendants."

There are two matters that need to be distinguished: 1. Mutual visits and acquaintance among the people of Paradise: This is part of the complete bliss of the people of Paradise. There is no prohibition for someone of a lower rank to visit someone of a higher rank, as indicated by Allah Almighty's saying: "Then they will approach one another, questioning." 2. Uniting children and parents in one rank: This applies specifically to offspring who died in childhood. In such cases, Allah bestows favor upon their parents in Paradise and raises their children to their rank to gladden their eyes with them, as mentioned by Ibn Al-Qayyim and Ibn Uthaymeen.
