Is it permissible to work in companies that sell clothes to veiled and unveiled women simultaneously?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

There is no harm in working for companies that sell clothes for both veiled (muhajabat) and unveiled (mutabarrijat) women, provided that the employee does not work with the clothes of the unveiled women that are predominantly likely to be used in a forbidden manner (such as wearing them in front of non-mahram men). This is because doing so would be assisting in sin, and Allah the Almighty says: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression). And anything that is used in a forbidden manner, or is predominantly likely to be so used, is forbidden to manufacture and sell, such as manufacturing and selling transparent, tight, and short clothes that reveal a woman's charms.
