Are the rhythms from wood or a table considered part of the forbidden music?

Striking tables and similar wooden instruments is not considered prohibited musical playing. The Shafi'is held that its ruling is similar to that of clapping for play, with some saying it is disliked (makruh) and others saying it is forbidden (haram).
