Talbinah is a soup made from ground barley with its bran, cooked in water. It was named as such due to its resemblance to milk in its whiteness and consistency. It was mentioned in authentic hadiths, such as the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Talbinah is a rest for the sick person's heart, it removes some of the sorrow." "Tujim al-fu'ad" means it soothes, removes anxiety, and revitalizes the heart.
