Is the number of women for the Companions of the Right (Aṣḥāb al-Yamīn) restricted to women of this world only, or does it also include the Ḥūr al-ʿĪn? And what is their number?

The women mentioned in the recompense for the People of the Right Hand in Surat Al-Waqi'ah are subject to differing interpretations: some say they are the Houris (maidens of Paradise), and others say they are women of this world. If they are the Houris, the matter is clear. If they are women of this world, this does not mean that the People of the Right Hand will not marry the Houris, because the Qur'an indicates that the People of the Right Hand will be married to the Houris in Paradise. Allah Almighty mentioned in Surat Ar-Rahman, concerning the recompense for the People of the Right Hand: "In them are good and beautiful women," (Ar-Rahman: 70) "Houris restricted in pavilions." (Ar-Rahman: 72)

The minimum number of Houris for the People of the Right Hand is two, as it is authentically established in the Sahihayn that each man among them will have two wives. And there are narrations indicating more than that; for example, it has been reported that a martyr will have seventy-two wives from the Houris, and it has been reported that a man from the people of Paradise will be married to five hundred Houris. However, the authentic hadiths do not mention more than two wives, except for what came in the hadith of Abu Musa: "Indeed, for the believer in Paradise, there is a tent made of a pearl, and he will have families within it, whom he will visit."

In summary, the minimum number of Houris for each person among the people of Paradise is two wives. The bounty of Allah is vast, and Paradise contains what no eye has seen and no ear has heard.
