Is the feeling of inadequacy forbidden, and what should I do about others accusing me of arrogance when I am not like that?

The issue of being accused of arrogance requires understanding the meaning of arrogance, which is "rejecting the truth and despising people."

As for the feeling of inadequacy, if it is discontent with God's decree, then it is forbidden. But if it is merely a feeling of shortcoming, then there is no harm in it; in fact, it is commendable if it leads to seeking solutions or striving for perfection.

Dealing with this feeling lies in the servant's knowledge of his Lord and himself, through two types of knowledge: 1. His knowledge of his Lord, His perfection, His existence, and that all good is in His hands. 2. His knowledge of himself, its deficiencies, its ignorance, and that it possesses no good on its own.

When a servant attains these two types of knowledge, he realizes that all praise belongs to God, and that He is worthy of all commendation, and that the self is more deserving of dispraise. This is what leads the servant to achieve true servitude.
