Does extravagance in preparing food for Iftar diminish the reward of the fasting person?

Excessive spending after fasting does not diminish its reward, but it falls under the prohibition of extravagance in Allah's saying: (And eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess) Al-A'raf/31. It is better to give in charity what exceeds one's needs.
