Are the intermittent discharges (al-kudrah) that precede or follow menstrual blood considered part of menstruation, or is menstruation only the clear blood, bearing in mind that the cycle previously lasted six days without these discharges?

We have previously clarified that brown or yellow discharge before menstruation is not considered menstrual blood unless it occurs during the usual period. The same applies to what occurs after the end of menstruation and seeing the sign of purity. However, if the brown discharge follows blood directly without seeing the sign of purity, it is considered menstrual blood, as long as it does not exceed the maximum duration of menstruation (fifteen days).
