What is the expiation for someone who masturbated during the day in Ramadan and then drank water, and is her husband sinful because he has intercourse with her five minutes before Fajr, and is it permissible to drink water after masturbating during the day in Ramadan?

Masturbation is forbidden in Ramadan and outside of it, and its prohibition becomes more severe during the daytime in Ramadan. If no ejaculation occurs, the fast is not broken. If ejaculation occurs and you were ignorant of its ruling, your fast might not be broken according to some scholars. However, if you deliberately drank after masturbating, your fast is broken, and you must make up for it, and you must refrain from eating and drinking for the rest of the day. A husband having intercourse with his wife before Fajr is permissible, but he must grant you your rights and observe the etiquette of intercourse. One must beware of masturbation due to the sin and harms it entails.
