Will a girl be saved from the punishment for destroying the questioner's personality, health, and home just because she is a memorizer of the Qur'an?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If a woman establishes a relationship with a husband without a contract, she is sinful and negligent of the boundaries of Islamic law. Her memorization of the Quran or performance of good deeds does not absolve her from wrongdoing if she sought to cause discord between the spouses. However, if she did not seek to cause discord, there is no injustice in her pursuit of marriage to the husband, and the wife has no right to supplicate against her. The wife is advised to lighten the matter for herself and to counsel her husband to fear Allah and sever his relationship with that woman. If he desires to marry her, the wife has no right to object, unless she stipulated in the marriage contract that he should not take another wife while married to her.
