What is the correct Islamic legal position for dealing with a wife who has become more interested in a Quran memorization center than in her home, her husband, and her daughters, and refuses to raise her daughters to pray and wear the Islamic attire, and blames the husband despite his religious commitment, and uncovers her face and palms in front of the husband's brothers and his sisters' husbands?

A wife's diligence in learning and teaching the Quran is a praiseworthy act, but if it leads to her neglecting the rights of her husband and children, then it is a major error. Her duty is to prioritize the rights of her husband and children. She must obey you in what is good, and this includes not uncovering her face and hands in front of your brothers or non-mahram men. She is also responsible for raising and nurturing her children properly, as she is accountable for her flock.

If she can combine her work in teaching the Quran with her family responsibilities, then that is good. If she cannot, then she should dedicate herself to her home, and she should know that she will receive a great reward for that.

You, in turn, must fulfill your duty of guardianship over your wife and children, and encourage them to perform their obligatory duties, prevent them from forbidden acts, and deal with your wife with wisdom, cooperating with her in obedience to Allah, and making abundant supplications.
