Was the Messiah, peace be upon him, tortured before his ascension, even though he was not crucified?

All narrations about the crucifixion of Jesus, peace be upon him, are numerous and belong to the Israʼiliyyat (narrations from Jewish sources). Al-Tabari mentioned two narrations from Wahb ibn Munabbih, one of which states that Jesus was tormented then raised, and Allah cast his likeness upon another person, who was then crucified.
