Is the woman who informed her father that Jesus, peace be upon him, passed away before he was raised [to heaven] held accountable, given her feelings of guilt and her fear for him of straying [from the truth]?

The prevailing view is that Jesus (peace be upon him) did not die, but rather was raised alive to heaven. Therefore, anyone who claims he died or was crucified is mistaken. The verses mentioning "Al-Tawaffi" (taking/seizing) are interpreted in three ways:

1. "Mutawaffika" (I will take you/cause you to die) does not imply immediate death, but rather that Allah will cause him to die someday.

2. "Mutawaffika" means "I will cause you to sleep," meaning He raised him while he was asleep.

3. "Mutawaffika" means "I will seize you alive unto Me."

One who errs in this matter is excused.
