What should a husband do with his wife who has become moody, easily agitated with him and their children, and desires to live alone without anyone questioning her actions?

The husband is advised to be patient with his wife and supplicate for her, and to seek the reasons for her strange behavior. She might be suffering from a psychological illness that necessitates a visit to a doctor, or she might have been afflicted by the evil eye or sorcery, in which case resorting to ruqyah (definition) (Islamic exorcism) is necessary. It must also be emphasized that the wife has the right to an independent dwelling, and it is impermissible for her to leave her home without her husband's permission, otherwise, she is considered disobedient (nashiz).
