Is it permissible for the one who built a mosque to close it and prevent Muslims from praying in it due to problems and discord occurring between different groups?

Those who stir up discord in the mosque should be advised to fear Allah and reconcile their differences, because their actions might alienate non-Muslims from Islam. It is not permissible to close the mosque and deprive people from it unless the problem cannot be resolved by other means, because Allah has forbidden preventing access to Allah's mosques. Among the ways to solve the problem are consulting with the worshippers to choose a qualified imam for the mosque, seeking help from Islamic centers, advising the dissenters gently, and then preventing them from the mosque if they persist. If problems cannot be solved except by temporarily closing the mosque, then it is permissible, while striving to find a solution as quickly as possible, because averting harm takes precedence over gaining benefits. Jurists have stipulated the permissibility of closing the mosque outside of prayer times for a benefit, and it is permissible to close it during prayer times if the harm cannot be averted except by that, while being careful not to prevent worshippers generally.
