Is tribulation considered a stratagem from Allah Almighty? And is supplicating for its warding off a sign of good expectation of Him? And is it possible, or is it an objection to Allah's decree?
Allah schemes against those who scheme and defy His law. Not every tribulation is a scheme from Allah; indeed, Allah may test a servant to elevate their status, as indicated by the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "If Allah intends good for someone, He afflicts him." Whoever is afflicted with a tribulation should be patient and submit to Allah's command, realizing that Allah decreed it for a wisdom, and He is praised in all circumstances. There is no harm in supplicating for the removal of a tribulation, as its descent might be for the wisdom of hearing the servant's supplication and earnest plea, like the supplication of Job (peace be upon him). Supplicating for the removal of a tribulation is permissible and not an transgression in prayer. Allah is capable of removing any tribulation, no matter how great. The servant should supplicate and earnestly implore Allah, confident in His grace and having a good opinion of Him.
