Is it permissible for a woman to travel abroad for work without a mahram?

A woman is not permitted to travel to France or any other country without a mahram, due to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "A woman must not travel except with a mahram." The prohibition becomes even stronger when traveling to disbelieving countries due to the decadence and corruption found therein. We advise against traveling, for whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect, and whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better than it.
