Is playing the Qur’an on the phone all night considered against the Sunnah if it causes the husband insomnia?
We advise cautioning the person who recites the Qur'an loudly when someone is asleep, for the scholars have stated that one should not raise their voice with it if it affects someone's sleep. Loud recitation is preferable, provided it does not harm others, such as a worshipper or a sleeper. If a sleeper is disturbed by it, the ruling on this act ranges between being disliked (makrooh) and forbidden (haram). She should also be reminded of the seriousness of accusing a Muslim of disbelief (kufr), based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "No man accuses another man of wickedness, nor accuses him of disbelief, but it will rebound to him if his companion is not as such," and his saying: "If a man says to his brother, 'O disbeliever,' then it has returned upon one of them."
