What is the ruling on a father working as a real estate agent, which requires meeting, buying, and selling with women and entering their homes? Is it permissible to draw an analogy to the Messenger of Allah’s (peace be upon him) dealings with our mother Khadijah? What are some solutions for this?

The Sharia (definition) does not permit a man's interaction with a woman unconditionally, nor does it forbid it unconditionally. Rather, it has set restrictions and controls to prevent falling into temptation, such as limiting conversation to what is necessary, avoiding seclusion (khalwa (definition)), and not entering upon her unless her husband or a mahram (definition) is present. If these controls are observed, there is no harm. If there are Sharia violations in the father's interactions with women, he should be advised gently and wisely. If there is concern that he might fall into temptation in his work, he can be guided to look for a better job.
