How should a Muslim act if he seeks Allah's guidance (istikharah) concerning a matter and sees auspicious signs and facilitation, yet feels a sense of constriction and unease towards it? Should he proceed, relying on Allah, or respond to his feeling of unease?

Istikhara is recommended for marriage and other permissible matters. It is not a condition for the one performing Istikhara to see a dream afterward. The predominant view is that a person should proceed with the matter after performing Istikhara, without paying attention to dreams, and should not abandon the matter for which Istikhara was performed, unless Allah diverts him from it.
