Is it permissible to masturbate before Ramadan to eliminate desire during Ramadan?

Masturbation is impermissible at any time, whether before or after Ramadan, or under the pretext of curbing desire during Ramadan. The correct remedy for the desire to masturbate is what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guided to: "O young people, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding the private parts. And whoever cannot afford it, let him fast, for it will be a shield for him." Ramadan helps in staying away from this bad habit through fasting, reciting the Quran, performing night prayers (Qiyam), and engaging in good deeds.
