What is the ruling on a man wearing a watch for adornment and not to tell time, especially if it is broken, and does it take the ruling of forbidden bracelets?

It is permissible for a man to adorn himself with the permissible forms of adornment that Allah has made lawful. The general principle regarding adornment is permissibility, as indicated by the words of Allah the Almighty: "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants?'" (Al-A'raf: 32). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged beautification, saying: "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty." However, a man has been forbidden from specific types of adornment, such as gold and silk, and anything that involves extravagance or resembles disbelievers, transgressors, or women. Therefore, there is no objection to a man wearing a watch for the purpose of adornment, knowing the time, or both, provided that it does not resemble women's watches or bracelets, and that it is not made of gold. As for silver, it should be limited to a ring only.
