Will he who prayed, recited the Qur'an, and repented be afflicted in his grave and be unable to answer the two angels' questions? Is his faith weak because he is obsessive? And will he be afflicted before his death?

The trial of the grave is a truth that afflicts both the believer and the non-believer. Allah's steadfastness for those who believe at the time of questioning is the meaning of the noble verse in Surat Ibrahim. Fear of Allah is a praiseworthy act of worship of the heart, and the believer is never without fear of trials concerning faith and a bad end. As for the fear that leads to despair and hopelessness, it is blameworthy, because praiseworthy fear is the moderate kind that motivates action, not the excessive kind that prevents it. The dislike of disbelief-inducing whispers and the heart's aversion to them are a sign of pure faith. Whispers do not indicate a weakness of faith; rather, they are a tribulation like any other illness.
