Is it permissible to fight a father who oppresses his son and prevents him from praying, marrying, and trading, and seeks to make him an infidel, then threatens to kill him after he leaves his house?

The aforementioned father's action is forbidden (haram) and impermissible. His duty is to raise his son in obedience to Allah. It is unlawful for him to assault his son with severe beating, killing, or plundering his money. The son may defend himself using the least severe methods. If the father cannot be deterred except by killing, then there is no sin upon the son. The father is not imprisoned for his son's debt unless he refuses to provide for him, in which case he is then imprisoned. It is permissible to repel any aggressor against oneself, one's property, or one's chastity. Obedience to the father is not obligatory in abandoning marriage if the son fears temptation, nor in abandoning congregational prayer.
