Is a wife entitled to seek divorce from her husband who accuses her of killing their daughter, curses and slanders her, wishes death upon her other children, and suffers from a psychological illness that makes him want to harm her?

It is permissible for a woman to request a divorce from her husband if there is a valid reason for it, such as slander, insults, verbal abuse, or threats of murder. The warning mentioned in the noble Hadith, "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without a sound reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her," does not apply to her. If the spouses agree to separation, it is permissible; otherwise, she may refer her case to the Sharia judge, who can rule for divorce if harm is proven.
