What is the ruling on celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and the like, and is the Prophet's saying: "That is the day I was born" exclusive to him?

It has been previously clarified that celebrating birthdays or other innovated holidays is not permissible. In Islam, there are only Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and the day of Jumu'ah (Friday). The Prophet's (peace be upon him) statement about Monday, "That is the day I was born," does not indicate that it should be taken as an Eid, nor did the Companions understand it as such. Taking the day of birth as an Eid is not from the path of the Prophet (peace be upon him), but rather from the path of the Christians. Therefore, the wife must fear Allah the Almighty and refrain from adding to the religion that which is not part of it. The way to resolve problems is to return to the law of Allah the Almighty, as stated in His saying: "And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger," and His saying: "And whatever you disagree over, its decision is with Allah."
