What is the ruling on one who said to his wife, "You are divorced if you contact your family," while she was secretly talking to her brothers?

The matter requires clarification from the husband regarding his intention when preventing his wife from contacting her family. If he intended to prevent her absolutely, then a divorce occurred with her first conversation with them, and it must be considered whether the waiting period (iddah (definition)) has expired or not. If it has expired, then she must join her family, and it is not permissible for her to return to him except with a new contract (unless he had divorced her twice before). If it has not expired, then she must inform him; he may either take her back without a contract or not take her back, and she must remain in his house until the waiting period expires. However, if he only intended to prevent her from going to them, then no divorce has occurred, and it is permissible for her to speak with them over the phone or receive them in her home. If he prevents her from speaking with them even over the phone, then obedience to him is not obligatory in that instance.
