What makes a righteous servant, like Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, who was promised Paradise, fear entering Hellfire and weep? And what makes him constantly fear his Lord and increase his good deeds, even though good deeds alone do not guarantee complete acceptance?

Good deeds hold great value with God. Obedient people fear that God may not accept their obedience due to their shortcomings in fulfilling God's rights, and this is the essence of piety. A Muslim must combine love, fear, and hope in his worship of God, as God described His prophets: "Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate to Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive." Knowing God leads to fearing Him. Whoever falls short in this should listen to reports and traditions and study the states and sayings of those who fear God.
