What is the ruling on wearing long trousers that extend below the ankles, and does the ruling change if they are folded up to be above the ankles?

We advise you to fear Allah Almighty and not to pay attention to intrusive thoughts (waswas), because preoccupation with them strengthens their grip. Since you are afflicted with waswas, you may adopt the view that it is not forbidden to let garments hang below the ankles if it is not out of arrogance (khuyala'), in order to cut off the source of these intrusive thoughts.
