Will the questioner, who lives with a husband she was forced to marry against her will, finding no solution in divorce due to her family's opposition and fear for her daughters, be rewarded in the afterlife for her patience despite her dissatisfaction with God's decree? Is she sinful for hating her family and supplicating against them? And is she a bad person because God did not stand by her in refusing this marriage?

Islam guarantees the freedom of choice for spouses, and it is not permissible to force them into marriage. If a woman is married without her permission, she has the right to either ratify or reject the marriage. The questioner's family erred by compelling her to marry someone she did not desire. It is advisable to be content with Allah's decree and not to show discontent, and to beware of whisperings (waswas). It is not permissible to supplicate against one's parents; rather, one must supplicate for mercy for them. Marital life is not based solely on love, but also on patience, kindness, and care. If the questioner cannot continue in marital life and fulfill her husband's rights, she has the right to seek khul' (divorce at the wife's instance).
