If a man is the one offering the sacrifice (al-Udhiyah), are his wife and children prohibited from taking from their hair and nails upon the entry of Dhul-Hijjah?

It is permissible for the family of the sacrificer to take from their hair and nails after the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah, because the prohibition is specific to the sacrificer only, who is the owner of the sacrifice and purchases it with his own money. Scholars have inferred this from the apparent meaning of the prophetic traditions that singled out this ruling for whoever intends to sacrifice, and because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not forbid his household from taking from their hair and nails despite his sacrifice on their behalf.
