Is it forbidden for one who delays his sacrifice until the Days of Tashreeq to take anything from his hair or nails until he slaughters, or is that restricted to the first ten days [of Dhul-Hijjah], even if he delays his sacrifice?

Whoever intends to offer a sacrifice (udhiyah) is prohibited from taking anything from their hair or nails until they have sacrificed, regardless of whether they sacrifice at the beginning or end of the designated time. The proof for this is what Muslim narrated from Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever has an animal to sacrifice, then when the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah appears, let him not take anything from his hair or his nails until he has sacrificed." Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen said: "This is a reverence for the sacrifice, and so that those who are not in a state of ihram may attain what those in a state of ihram have attained in terms of respecting the hair."
