Is the prohibition of not taking from the hair, nails, and skin specific to the one who is obligated to offer the sacrifice, or to all members of the household? Is it permissible to give charity from the sacrificial animal to non-believers? And what should one do if they remember on the third day of Dhul-Hijjah that they have not taken from their hair or nails, and more than forty days have passed? Should they take from them or not?

Some jurists, among them the Malikis, hold that the prohibition of cutting hair or nails during the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah includes those who are offering a sacrifice (adha). They consider this prohibition to be in the nature of recommendation (disliked - karahah), not outright prohibition (tahreem), contrary to the Hanbalis. As for the conflict of this prohibition with fitra (natural disposition/hygiene), the aspect of observing fitra is given precedence when necessary, such as for someone who intends to enter into ihram during these days.
