How can one reconcile long working hours with the desire to complete reading the entire Qur’an during the month of Ramadan?

A Muslim is required to combine the interests of this world and the hereafter. He should not abandon this world under the pretext of the hereafter, nor should he embrace this world and turn away from the hereafter. Rather, he should take provisions from this world for the hereafter. The wise believer is one who prepares for death. A Muslim should have a daily portion (wird) of the Holy Quran, completing it - at most - once every forty days. In Ramadan, more is required of him, so he can read more than two juz' (parts) in an hour, or utilize commuting time, or reduce working hours, or take a leave. If he cannot, then he must make use of his time as much as he can, and Allah will reward him according to his intention.
