What should we do when laying the foundation stone for a plot of land we own and intend to build on, and what should we do when moving into a rented house, and what are the surahs and supplications that should be recited?

There is no verse or authentic supplication to be recited when laying the foundation stone for building a house. However, upon residing in the house, one should say: "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created." It is also recommended to recite the Quran, especially Surah Al-Baqarah, to expel Shaytan.
