Is the Hadith: “Having a good opinion of Allah is part of having good worship of Allah” authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him? And what is its degree and meaning?
The Hadith: "Indeed, having good thoughts about Allah is part of having good worship of Allah," was deemed weak by Al-Albani due to a blemish in its chain of transmission, but its meaning is sound. Al-Manawi explained that the meaning of the Hadith is that having good thoughts about Allah, in that He will forgive and pardon, is considered part of having good worship of Allah, as one attaches their hopes to Him. As for one who does not refine their manners in worship, they might imagine they are having good thoughts while in fact they are deluded. The good thought that is required is that which is accompanied by fear, except in the case of the sick and the dying, for whom hope is more befitting.
