The saying: "Goodness is in what Allah chooses" is neither a Hadith nor an Athar (saying of a companion), even though its meaning is correct. Close to this meaning is the Hadith narrated by Muslim from Suhayb, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for there is good in every matter of his, and this is not the case for anyone except the believer. If he is afflicted with ease, he is grateful, and that is good for him. And if he is afflicted with hardship, he is patient, and that is good for him."
