Is "For healing and gratitude are better than for affliction and patience" a Prophetic Hadeeth, and what is its درجه (authenticity/grade)?
Well-being is a great blessing. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to ask Allah for well-being and advise others to do so. He said: "Ask Allah for pardon and well-being, for no one has been given anything better than well-being after certainty (faith)." He repeatedly enjoined Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib to ask Allah for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. He used to supplicate morning and evening: "O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth." He also sought refuge from severe trials, from being overtaken by misery, from evil decree, and from the malicious joy of enemies. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wishing for the hastening of punishment in this world, and guided to asking Allah for good in this world and the Hereafter.
