How do Muslim soldiers pray on the battlefield while observing the enemy?

If those mentioned are residents in their place, then their Friday prayer and completion of the four-rak'ah prayer are four rak'ahs. However, if they are travelers to their ribat (outpost), then Friday prayer is not obligatory upon them, and they are permitted to shorten and combine prayers, because the duration of their stay is unknown.
