Is the turban hijab with ear and neck covering forbidden?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The turban does not fulfill the conditions of the legitimate Islamic head covering (hijab) because it does not cover the entire body, and because it is an adornment in itself, and due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them,” and Allah Almighty’s saying: ﴿And do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance.﴾ [Al-Ahzab: 33]. The legitimate Islamic head covering is a covering for the entire body with loose, opaque garments.
