Is all adornment that women adopt to improve their appearance, such as cutting and dyeing hair, plucking body hair, filing nails, and removing mustache hair, considered to be the forbidden alteration of God's creation, for which a curse was mentioned, or is the curse specific only to those who create spaces between their teeth for beauty? And how can a woman adorn herself for her husband, taking this prohibition into consideration?

The way for a woman to adopt permissible adornment is by following the rulings of Sharia and abandoning blind imitation, adhering to the Sharia ruling once it is established. If fatwas differ, the layperson should adopt the opinion of one whose knowledge and piety they trust, and it is preferable to avoid doubtful situations.

We have clarified the rulings regarding a woman's adornment, including cutting and dyeing hair, and cosmetic surgeries. The difference between removing a woman's mustache or beard hair and the prohibited plucking (namṣ) is that the former distorts the appearance, and its removal restores the appearance to its natural state, whereas plucking is an alteration of the natural creation.

Islam is a religion of natural disposition (fiṭra) and cleanliness; it permits adornment and regulates it to prevent extremism. Allah denounced those who forbid adornment, saying: "Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good things of provision?' Say, 'They are for those who believe in the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection.' Thus do We explain the verses in detail for a people who know." Everything Islam has forbidden is for a wisdom and benefit, and the believer must obey.
