Is it permissible for a person in a state of perpetual ritual impurity (da'im al-hadath) to avail themselves of the dispensations granted to those with excuses (ashab al-a'dhar), such as not renewing ablution for every prayer, or combining prayers, knowing that I do avail myself of some other dispensations?

The aforementioned view of the Malikis has strength, and Ibn Taymiyyah agreed with them on it. There is no harm in following it and acting upon it. It is permissible to adopt some of the concessions of the jurists when there is a need, and this is not part of the blameworthy indulgence. A common person should follow the scholar whom he trusts among the people of knowledge. If they are equal, he may choose, and it is also said that he should act upon what is easier.
